Uppingham School is currently seeking an outstanding Grounds Manager to join its busy Grounds Team, specialising in cricket and other sports surfaces.  

Founded in 1584, Uppingham is one of Britain’s leading co-educational independent boarding schools. Games and a full sporting curriculum form an integral part of school life at Uppingham. The playing fields and sports facilities, covering approximately 56 acres over three sites, cater for multiple sporting activities throughout the whole year. 

The Grounds Department focuses on maintaining the sports grounds, facilities and pitches, including multiple natural and artificial playing surfaces. As the Grounds Manager, you will lead, develop and mentor a team of grounds employees and deliver high standards of performance, excellent customer service and a proactive approach to all elements of work. 

You will be a highly skilled and knowledgeable manager, with relevant qualifications and significant experience of the management of sports playing surfaces and know how to maintain cricket, football and rugby pitches.  You should be a member of the Institute of Groundsmanship or equivalent body and hold a full UK driving licence.
