We are looking for a skilled gardener with proven experience in a horticultural role to help maintain the beautiful St James Park and Green Park to exceptional standards.

You will need to be passionate and knowledgeable about plants and will be expected to carry out hard and soft landscaping and general maintenance of the park, including grass cutting, weeding, mulching, pruning, planting and other duties. You will also be involved with planting and maintaining the bedding outside Buckingham Palace.

To be successful in the role, you will need:

• Formal horticultural qualification e.g Level 3 or equivalent, or proven relevant experience
• Full driving licence
• Good knowledge of Health and Safety in the workplace
• A good understanding of risk assessment process
• Practical understanding of COSHH and PUWER regulations
• Good knowledge of horticultural plant and machinery
• To be a self- motivated individual with excellent leadership skills
• Financial awareness regarding staffing levels, overtime, tools and equipment etc
• Ability to deal with the client and members of the public in a courteous and efficient manner
• The ability to work with a “can do” attitude
