Gardener

Permanent, full time, 40 hours a week, Monday to Friday

Harrow School is situated in Harrow on the Hill, northwest London, and is one of the best-known schools in the world. Around 830 boys study at Harrow and live in the School’s 12 boarding houses. Employees particularly value the School’s beautiful green estate, the positive working environment, and good team relationships.

An opportunity has arisen for an experienced gardener to join the team responsible for the maintenance and development of gardens and grounds in Harrow School. Working alongside the Gardens Manager and the Gardens team, you should possess a horticultural qualification or have relevant experience.

Duties will include lawn care, planting, pruning and cutting hedges, as well as snow clearance and salting in the winter. It is therefore essential that applicants are physically fit and able to work outside throughout the year and in all weathers. A full UK driving licence is desirable.

In addition to a competitive salary, benefits include free lunches, automatic enrolment in the School’s pension scheme, use of the School’s sports facilities such as the gym and swimming pool, and subsidised membership of the tennis, golf, angling and social clubs.

To apply, please visit our website at www.harrowschool.org.uk/work-at-harrow where you will find a job description and the required application forms. If you have any queries, please contact the HR department at recruitment@harrowschool.org.uk or by telephoning 020 8872 8380. CVs without the application form can not be accepted as we require the application form for our safeguarding checking procedures.

Closing date: Friday 6 March 2020.

The School is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and all successful applicants must be willing to undergo child protection screening appropriate for the post, including checks with any past employer and the Disclosure and Barring Service.

Harrow School is an equal opportunities employer.
