Full Time Supervisor at Retail Plant Nursery

Who are we looking for?

This is a supervisory role and the successful candidate will be directly accountable to the owners. This role will tackle not only the day to day requirements of the retail nursery including dealing with customer enquiries and sales but also be heavily involved with the propagation, production and management of the plant stock.

As supervisor you will assist in the management of the current staff deployment. The role will also involve helping to create a program for production including the development of new lines. 

As the nursery expands it will also be the role of the successful candidate to assist with planning, construction and development of new production areas. It will also be the responsibility of the successful candidate to ensure that the grounds are maintained to a high standard.

This is a hands-on role within a small team and will involve working in all weathers, some weekend and Bank Holiday working will be required. 

Candidate Attributes

• At least 5 years Horticultural experience (preferably within the Nursery sector)
• Excellent knowledge of hardy plants, nomenclature, production and uses.
• Commercial awareness
• Propagation experience
• Good timekeeper, organised and reliable
• Good customer and interpersonal skills
• PA1 and PA6 certificates
• Forklift training certificate (not essential but desirable)
• Full driving Licence and own vehicle
