Assistant Growing Manager - S718

An exciting opportunity to join an award winning, environmentally aware company employing over 200 staff, using established LEAN principles and innovative growing technology. They are the UK’s largest producer of indoor ornamental pot plants supplying over 8 million plants every year to major retailers. They are currently seeking an Assistant Growing Manager to help produce and develop consistently high-quality plants in their advanced growing facilities. 

Do you have several years experience in commercial crop production?

Are you familiar with pest and disease identification?

Do you have knowledge of plant protection products and irrigation systems?

Key points

• Assist the department manager in all growing activity
• To monitor growth and ensure only excellent quality plants are produced
• To provide technical assistance to partners growers in the UK and overseas
• To be involved in young plant ordering and production planning
• Working closely with their customers technical managers to represent them well

Must haves

• A degree in Horticulture with several years experience in a similar role
• Be familiar with LEAN principles and innovative growing technology
• Ideally experience in protected cropping systems
• Able to consistently deliver top quality plants on a commercial scale
