The borough of Wandsworth has one of the richest varieties of open spaces in central London.  Enable Leisure and Culture is the lead contractor employed by Wandsworth Council to manage leisure and culture services in the borough including the management and maintenance of 32 parks and open spaces.

We are looking for a suitably qualified and experienced Parks Project Officer to join our Parks Development Team working alongside colleagues who advise our client on strategic improvements and deliver capital projects which help shape the future of green spaces in Wandsworth.

Your role will be to help understand the needs of users and develop the specification of new projects by working with a range of stakeholders, and proactively managing the delivery of a range of capital improvement projects in parks and open spaces throughout the borough of Wandsworth.

Working within a highly motivated team which specialise in horticulture, infrastructure, participation, engagement and fundraising you will have the potential to develop strong multi-disciplinary skills and experience as you drive projects from inception through to successful completion.

We are looking for a team player who will work effectively in constructive collaboration with colleagues during project design phases and who has strong self-motivation and the ability to work on personal initiative to take responsibility for project delivery. 

You will have experience in managing capital delivery projects using local authority procurement processes or within a commercial project management framework, ideally in a parks, horticulture or landscaping environment.  You will have a varied skill set and/or experience in CAD, project management, procurement, contract management and an understanding of budget management.

The role is for 40 hours a week based primarily in the parks office in Battersea Park.  You will be expected to travel around Wandsworth to visit sites and meet contractors and stakeholders on a regular basis.
