Our client is the owner of 3 independent Monmouthshire based garden centres who has an exciting opportunity to join their Plant team at one of their leading centres.

You will train under the Assistant Manager with the management of the outdoor plant department which has an extensive and well-stocked range of plants with a goal of taking on the management of the department as the Plant Area Manager. You must have experience or have horticultural qualifications along with experience in garden centre retailing. This is a large garden centre and the plant area has a high turnover. The suitable candidate could also be involved in our company buying process.

Duties:
Planning & supervising staff resources for the daily running of the department.
Ensuring all stock is clearly and accurately priced and always looking fresh.
Ensuring a good level of customer sales and service is offered at all times.
Ordering of correct levels of stock so sales target are met and wastage is kept to a minimum.
Working with management to ensure standards and sales are met.
Key holder and part of the duty management team.

Requirements:
The successful candidate will have strong plant knowledge.
Good supervisory experience within a retail background.
Be a good communicator with a focus on customer service.
Happy to work as part of a team or on their own initiative.

As part of the Plant Management team you will look to achieve sales and profit targets whilst motivating your team to maximise all sales opportunities and inspiring them to offer the highest standards of customer service. You must have the ability to thrive in a fast paced environment, have a passion for plants, and be highly motivated, commercially aware and able to create dynamic, inspirational displays.

This is a full time position, including alternate weekends.
