Our client is one of the leading suppliers to the British landscaping industry. From a 40-acre container site in Shropshire, they produce and contract-grow a huge variety of trees and shrubs. As a result of continued growth, they are looking to strengthen their team and currently have a vacancy for an Inventory Control Assistant.This is a 6-month temporary contract. The position may be extended to a 12-month contract, subject to a successful 6-month review.

The successful candidate will be instrumental in enabling all areas of the business to operate with high confidence levels in its inventory management. This will reduce stock issues and maximise company performance.

The right candidate will be an excellent communicator, self-motivated and organised. They will possess strong IT skills and be proficient in the use of Microsoft Office. Plant knowledge is desirable but not essential.
This role will involve working outside in all weather conditions at times.

Main Duties and Responsibilities:
Maintain accurate, up to date records of all stock, including status and quantity, on the ERP system.
Assist in the allocation of stock by prioritizing batches.
Investigate and resolve inventory discrepancies, report on findings and develop practical solutions with other ERP users.
Perform cycle inventory counts, generate reports and make agreed corrections to stock records on the ERP system.
Review WIP and production stock to assess saleability, and progress this through the system as and when required.
Assist with planning an effective annual stock count, involving all relevant departments and teams.
Strive for improved efficiency in all areas of inventory management, and offer suggested improvements with constructive analysis.
