Gardener/Groundsperson - Live In - EC7731

A fantastic opportunity has arisen for a Gardener/Groundsperson to manage a beautiful private garden in Hampstead, Greater London. The 1-acre garden consists of a rose garden and climbing roses, wisteria, yew hedges, mixed beds, herbaceous borders and shrubs, mature trees, a kitchen garden with raised beds and a greenhouse, lawn, tennis courts, pond with a water feature and a pergola / trellis walkway.

The Gardener/Groundsperson will carry out a mixture of duties including gardening, handyman duties, the overall maintenance of the grounds and assist with the security of the property. Applicants for this position should have the enthusiasm for maintaining and enhancing the garden and must take pride in their work. They should have the determination and drive to work to a high standard. The successful applicant will also be dog friendly as they may occasionally be required to assist with the owner’s golden retriever.

Excellent knowledge of gardening/plants combined with a minimum of 5 years gardening experience is essential. Good craft skills, the ability to undertake handyman duties and experience with operating and maintaining a range of garden machinery are required for the role. A driving licence and own transport would be an advantage as well as spray certificates PA1/PA6.

A one-bedroom offsite accommodation, next to the property, is provided for the successful candidate. The accommodation is suitable for single occupancy and council tax and bills will be covered by the owners.

SALARY:        Up to £25,000 depending on experience
