What is the role?

Working as a key part of our Utility Arb department, you will lead a team of arb specific safety inspectors operating within the South-Central region. Your main responsibility is to monitor and coach contractor operations to maintain high levels of safety and productivity across a variety of challenging situations.

At Scottish and Southern Electricity Networks (SSEN), we invest millions every year to make sure our network is in the best condition possible our over-arching aim is to ensure the safety of the public and minimise power cuts. In the Utility Arb department, we manage a predominantly contractor-based resource to maintain vegetation around the overhead network and reduce supply interruptions. We work closely with other business units and stakeholders to ultimately keep the lights on for our customers.

Your Skills and Experience

- Utility Arboriculture or Arboriculture operational knowledge or experience

- Experience of managing teams and co-ordinating the work of others

- Strong track record in managing safety performance and improving safety culture

- The ability to prioritise workload and balance demands from your customers

- Proven track record of delivering strong performance and meeting delivery timescales

- Well organised with excellent planning skills

- Valid UK drivers’ licence and ability to travel is essential
