Rosemoor, Great Torrington, Devon

30 - 37.5 hours per week

Any 4/5 days out of a 7-day period

RHS Garden Rosemoor is an enchanting garden set in the beautiful Torridge Valley, designed to provide year round interest and inspiration to all gardeners and garden lovers. 

Edibles-

An exciting opportunity has arisen to work within our unique and inspirational Fruit and Vegetable garden, potager, orchards and Teaching gardens here a wide variety of crops are grown and displayed all year round to inspire our visitors along with creating a visual spectacle. We are looking for a passionate grower with an eye for detail who will care for the plants from seed until harvesting then delivering to our resident chef.

Nursery & Propagation-

We are looking for a dynamic Horticulturist to work within our busy nursery, someone who has a real interest in plants and how they are grown. This role will help to grow a wide range of plants from vegetables to shrubs for the garden, maintain plant health along with helping to deal with new plants coming into the garden. The team also look after our alpine collection.

Formal Garden-

Working within the dramatic and stunning Formal garden, with its vibrant themed garden rooms and a diverse plant collection, which creates all year round interest to inspire our visitors. We are looking for an enthusiastic individual with a real interest in plants, a team player and confident with a range of machinery.

Lady Anne’s Garden-

Within the historical heart of Rosemoor in Lady Anne’s original garden, this has a unique and diverse plant collection along with the arboretum, which creates all year round interest to inspire our visitors. We are looking for an individual with a real interest in plants, a team player and confident with a range of machinery.

As a Horticulturist, you will be responsible for the care, cultivation and maintenance of areas within your section, also helping to further develop and improve the garden with various projects. You will provide guidance to students, apprentices and volunteers and helping to deliver outstanding customer service to our visitors.

You should hold a RHS Level 2 Certificate in Horticulture or equivalent, and be familiar with a range of standard horticulture techniques, and have proven practical experience in horticulture, which may be acceptable in lieu of a formal qualification.
