On behalf of Saxon Agriculture, De Lacy Executive are looking for a Grain and Seed Quality Supervisor. The role includes being responsible for the day to day operations of the grain quality testing laboratory, and for assisting the trading and buying team in administering the grain quality management programme for the receival, storage and outturn of grain from sites within the relevant area.

Based in Swaffham, the successful candidate will be working within an established and respected organisation specialising in the trade, import, and export of cereals, oilseeds and pulses.

Some of the responsibilities will include:

  • Provide grain quality information and expertise to the Saxon Agriculture team, farm buyers and agents, customers and growers.
  • Ensure that the laboratory is fully compliant with all regulations.
  • Ensure staffing requirements for the operation of the laboratory are met, and staff are appropriately trained and utilised.
  • Ensure that all laboratory equipment is calibrated, operated and maintained in accordance with systems and procedures detailed in the quality management system.
  • Provide technical assistance to the traders and seed team, for the resolution of conflict between buyers and sellers.

Requirements:

  • A good understanding of agriculture and ideally grain quality testing systems.
  • People management skills are desirable.
  • Strong written and oral communications skills.
  • Understanding of quality management systems.
  • A Full UK Driver's license.
