The Role:

This is a chance to lead a busy and dedicated team of staff, maintaining some of the highest profile sites on the Historic Environment Scotland Estate.

The post is an integral part of the Conservation Directorate - Edinburgh Regional Team delivering gardening and grounds maintenance to an extremely high standard.

The Park and Palace sites extend to an area of approximately 650 acres and commensurate experience of managing large scale, complex gardening and grounds maintenance operations with multiple site users is an essential requirement for the post.

We investigate and record architectural and archaeological sites and landscapes across Scotland and care for more than 300 properties of national importance.

We have a People Strategy, which is an overarching strategy to ensure we support and develop staff within the organisation.
