An experienced and knowledgeable Gardener/Florist is sought to become part of the team on a stunning, historically significant, private estate near Sunningdale/Ascot in Berkshire.  Working alongside one other professional, this role will involve the provision and management of flowers on the estate as well as for the client’s second property in London.  In addition to floristry work, the successful candidate will undertake general horticultural/gardening duties within the grounds of the primary estate in Berkshire.

This Grade II listed property is part of the Crown Estate and includes approximately 60-acres of Grade I listed gardens.  The estate is privately owned and is not open to the public but is meticulously cared for by the dedicated team of 13 gardeners, of which you will become a part.  The large garden includes extensive lawns, fine turf, mature shrub/herbaceous and rose borders, mature hedging, vegetables and cut flowers, lakes, glasshouses, a cutting garden, perennial wildflower and annual meadows.

The successful candidate will work alongside the team of professional gardeners and the Garden Manager in the beautiful landscaped garden surrounding the historic property.  The Gardener/Florist will specifically be involved with plant propagation, glasshouse work and similar horticultural garden duties when not managing flowers for the houses.

The second house, located in Belgravia, London, will require the successful applicant to join one other Florist in sourcing and managing flowers for the property.  This aspect of the role will involve leaving Berkshire at 05:00 to collect flowers from Covent Garden for arrangement at the Belgravia property, before returning to Surrey and completing the day by 10:00am.  A full UK driving licence is therefore required of all applicants.

Applications are invited from experienced Florists/Gardeners who possess a good general knowledge of horticulture.  A suitable horticultural and/or floristry qualification would be beneficial, however previous and demonstrable experience will be taken into consideration.  Applicants must be friendly, hard-working, trustworthy and honest, with common sense, initiative and a positive character.  Due to the nature of the private estate, the successful candidate must be discreet and respectful of the family’s privacy when in residence.

This is an exciting opportunity to work within the grounds of a beautiful historic estate and to work alongside a close team of passionate and professional horticulturalists.  Applicants must have experience in, and a genuine talent for floristry work as they will be preparing all the house flowers in the properties as well as displays for events and Christmas.
