Role Purpose
Supervise the Parks Gardening Team in maintaining designated areas, including sports fields, sports facilities and horticultural features to a high standard in Victoria Park and other parks across the borough.
Key Responsibilities
Supervise a range of horticultural maintenance activities, in accordance with best horticultural practices, so that designated areas are prepared and maintained to an exceptional standard of horticulture, cleanliness and overall appearance.
As head gardener the role also involves overseeing the horticultural apprenticeship program, ensuring trainees are given the horticultural knowledge and skills required to complete an Level 2 NVQ in Horticulture.
Requirements
Undertake all routine and specialised horticultural maintenance in accordance with best practice, Plan staff work programmes, rotas etc and design and plan horticultural projects across the borough.

Benefits and Allowances
This is a full time position working a routine 35 hour week, Monday to Friday from 8am to 4pm, with occasional weekend and evening working with reasonable notice.
The candidate should hold a full UK driving licence.
