An exciting new opportunity has arisen to lead our innovative Horticulture Skills programme through a period of growth and innovation.

Our current, established, programme provides therapeutic gardening and vocational horticulture training to St Mungo’s clients – working across London, Bristol and Oxfordshire. Through our work we aim to support recovery, raise aspirations and equip clients with skills to gain paid work in the horticulture field.

We are anticipating significant growth of the programme over the next 18 months, and the Horticulture Skills Manager will be responsible for leading this growth. Specifically – we are looking to grow the enterprise arm of our programme, delivering garden services contracts to a range of customers and creating work placement and employment opportunities for St Mungo’s clients. We are also looking to further develop our training offer, with an emphasis on how we can make horticulture therapy and training available to the greatest number of St Mungo’s clients in the regions that we work.

To succeed in this role, you’ll need an interest in the potential of horticulture to support recovery and improve employability, an understanding of adult education for learners with complex needs, and some knowledge of the key factors in running a successful social enterprise. If you feel you have the right skills and experience for this exciting new role, we’d love to hear from you.

We offer a range of benefits including a pension scheme, staff discounts scheme and initiatives to help you maintain a healthy work/life balance. We are also committed to providing our staff with a wide range of learning and development opportunities; in support of their personal and professional development.
