Buyer/Trader | Horticulture | East Anglia

We are working with a very successful and interesting horticultural trading business who are looking to add a Supply Chain Manager/ Buyer to their team. In this role you will be working across a broad spectrum of SKU's in the horticultural & fresh produce sector and working with a quickly growing business that has the potential to see this role join the Senior Management team within a few years.

The Job:
You will be part of the Buying team and you will take on responsibility for sourcing products across a number of different suppliers and units. You will also be responsible for managing the supply chain of each product and distribution to the client. This role will really suit someone who has a certain amount of 'trader' energy and the ability to seek out opportunity wherever it may be across a varied range of horticultural goods.

There are a number of outlets and customers for the products and spot buying will be a regular part of the role contributing to a successfully run business. We are looking for someone who can comfortably join the team in a buying position and then keep growing to maybe a position in the management team after a period of time.

The Candidate:
Ideally to be successful in this role we are looking for someone with a trading 'go get 'em' mentality who is capable of working across a high number of SKU's rather than a few. Fresh produce or veg buying experience would be ideal as speed will be key for this business so the ability to act and work with products of a short shelf life would be an advantage.

Experience in supply chain will also be beneficial as the purchasing process will need monitoring all the way through to completion, along with some trading experience and being comfortable making decisions on behalf of the business with the knowledge behind you of where this product will be sold.
