Undergardener - Live Out - A606

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an Undergardener to join a very well-respected award-winning company in London. The company has been responsible for numerous very high-profile projects throughout the city for many years and are currently installing and managing an extensive regeneration of Kings Cross.  The company are offering an hourly rate of £10.80 with time and a half on Saturdays, with double time on Sundays.  Generously, this company will also pay for your daily commute into and out of London as part of the package.

This project is centred around the regeneration of 25-acres around Kings Cross; including 8-acres of gardens and 11 roof gardens.  The site is visited by 7.5 million people per year and offers a significant and varied horticultural attraction to visitors and employees alike.  The garden areas have been designed by some very high-profile designers and will offer the successful employee the chance to upskill whilst working with a very well-respected company and its senior employees.

The job role will initially be to aid the site team by installing and maintaining plant beds, shrubs, lawns and soils and then undertaking the maintenance of completed areas; pruning, weeding and general aftercare.

The following will be expected of the successful candidate:

• Routine maintenance of a newly establishing high density planting scheme, to a high standard.
• Working to contractual procedures to ensure compliance with maintenance guidelines.
• Demonstrate a high level of detail and motivation with a strong work ethic and ability to work well as part of a team.

Applicants must possess the following:

• Horticultural knowledge
• Excellent practical skills in all areas of garden maintenance including the use of petrol-powered garden machinery
• A CSCS Card and PA1/PA6 spraying licence are desirable, though training can be provided if necessary.
