We have an exciting opportunity for a skilled and experienced Groundsman or woman to join our parks team and help us maintain the high quality facilities that our residents and visitors enjoy.  You would be based at Victory Park in Addlestone and must be experienced, enthusiastic and knowledgeable, with particular skills around the maintenance and care of fine turf playing surfaces.

The main responsibilities will be delivering the high standards of presentation and customer service within the park expected by the Council.  This will be achieved through the maintenance and care of bowling greens, cricket squares and other playing surfaces and horticultural tasks such as cutting grass, pruning and planting. In addition you will ensure the park is kept clean and tidy, including changing rooms and other buildings and will be responsible for safety testing of certain facilities and keeping records of the results.  You will have the support of other members of the team and in particular an Assistant Groundsman based at the same park. The successful candidate will be expected to assist in training and developing the knowledge of the less experienced staff they work with.

You will need excellent communication skills and be able to liaise with the public in a polite and friendly manner.  You should have the ability to work alone at times, be self-motivated, reliable and flexible. You will need to work outside for most of the day, and some aspects of the job are particularly physically demanding.
