Propagator

Forde Abbey is a one of the country’s most beautiful house and gardens situated on the Somerset/Dorset border.  The House and Gardens are open to the public on a daily basis attracting over 50,000 visitors each year. We are looking for a dynamic Nursery propagator to join the gardening team to help supply our plant nursery and develop the plant collection for the garden.

The propagator will be responsible for:

Ordering, propagating and growing on all stock for the sales area and gardens.

Liaising and working with the gardening team

Keeping the nursery stocked and presented to a high standard

Laying out and managing space within the nursery.

Creating and following a spray programme when required.

All other propagating duties

The successful applicant should:

Be able to work independently and as part of a team.

Have a positive motivated attitude

PA1 and PA6 Spraying qualifications are desirable

Have level 3 or equivalent experience is required

Have nursery experience

Have experience of propagating a wide range of plants.

Be prepared to work some weekends and overtime during the peak season.
