About Fingal County Council:
Fingal County Council manages and maintains 2,000 Hectares (5,000 Acres) of Parks and Public Open space including several major heritage landscapes and important gardens and plant collections. Several new Regional Parks are currently under development within the County to serve the needs of a young and rapidly increasing population. The duties shall be such as may be assigned to the employee from time to time by the Local Authority and shall include the duty of deputising for the Senior Parks Superintendent, when required, and such duties as may be assigned to them in relation to the area of any other Local Authority. Duties shall include working within a team on the development of open space policies and the strategic planning, design, management and maintenance of Parks and Green Infrastructure in Fingal. The successful candidate will provide professional landscape input into the County Development Plan, Local Area Plans, Environmental Assessments, Green Infrastructural Strategies and Council Meeting replies and reports. In addition duties will include open space planning, development management and open space taking in charge. The position will involve managing, supervising and coordinating, parks, open space and tree maintenance programmes, environmental projects including the development of new and upgrading of existing active and passive sporting, recreational and play facilities.
