Technical Manager | Fresh Produce

We are working with a family business based in Worcestershire who farm a large acreage of fresh produce. They are a leading grower packer who are looking for a Technical Manager to be responsible for Technical, QA and NPD. The role will be customer facing and you must be able to build good working relationships with the retailers. You will be part of the senior management team and must be happy for travel to retailers and suppliers.

The Job:
Provide technical expertise for the business.
Be responsible for supplier due-diligence.
Plan, manage and design varietal trials and communicate these with customers and suppliers.
Lead and drive NPD for the business.
Review and monitor grower performance.
Support the business / customers with technical developments in the market place.
Carry out supplier audits and visits in the UK and Overseas.

The Candidate:
You will have technical experience in fresh produce, food manufacturing or farming
Knowledge of food safety and quality systems.
Experience in a customer facing role.
Good planning and organisational skills
Have excellent communication skills
UK driving licence
