Grounds Co-ordinator (Page Park)
Based: Page Park, Staple Hill, South Gloucestershire.
Full time, limited term contract for 2 years.
Under the direction of the Community Spaces Team and Grounds Supervisor, the role will be responsible for delivering and improving grounds maintenance as part of the Heritage Lottery Fund (HLF) Parks for People project for Page Park located in Staple Hill, South Gloucestershire.
Duties will include:
- Engaging & co-ordinating volunteers to assist with all aspects of park maintenance works
- Working with the Council’s grounds maintenance teams coordinating the delivery of a management and maintenance plan for Page Park.
- Attaining and maintaining Green Flag status for Page Park (first application now submitted)
- Preparing schedules of work based on park maintenance plans in agreement with Ground Supervisor
- Contributing to reports and payment claims to Heritage Lottery fund.
The successful candidate will have a Horticultural works qualification e.g. minimum of NVQ 3 or equivalent qualification, or equivalent relevant experience and have relevant practical experience in a park or similar environment.
You will also have experience of working with, initiating, engaging, training and supervising volunteers. Knowledge of the requirements of Green Flag certification is desirable. The successful candidate will need excellent communication skills combined with energy, initiative and enthusiasm.
