Our client, an environmental regeneration charity, is seeking an experienced and enthusiastic Community Gardener to join their team.

Location: Project delivery across London, primarily in the London Boroughs of Hounslow, Hammersmith and Fulham, the Royal Borough of Kensington and Chelsea, Ealing and wider west London boroughs
Contract: Sessional
Salary: £13.79 per hour, inclusive of holiday pay

The postholder will develop and deliver food growing, community gardening and practical nature conservation workshops that engage residents and community members, including people from diverse backgrounds and with additional needs. The postholder will utilise their strong horticulture and food growing expertise to support groups and individuals to build their own skills, confidence and therefore project sustainability.

Project work available to the postholder is varied and will include community gardening; food growing; garden maintenance; occasional development and design of new garden projects in collaboration with community stakeholders; horticultural training; capacity building; volunteer engagement; and supervising corporate volunteering task days.

You will utilise your excellent communication skills in engaging individuals and groups from diverse backgrounds and varied age groups, adapting gardening activities to insure all can participate, including those with English as a second language.

The work programme will include evening and weekend work. A full driving licence is desirable for this post. The work is sessional depending on the needs of each project; these needs are matched and allocated to members of the sessional gardening team as to their availability and skill set.
