Soft Landscape Assistant

Location: Projects in London and the Home Counties (Ideally residing in the West London area (Uxbridge) so can be picked up by our Site Foreperson who has a Company van)

Reporting to: Site Foreperson and Director

Salary Banding: £16,000 - £18,000 depending on skillset & experience

We require a highly self-motivated person with soft landscape knowledge and experience in the United Kingdom. The candidate must be capable of working on their own initiative and in collaboration with the foreperson and management to create top-end gardens. Whilst it is not essential, it would be useful if applicants hold a full, clean driving licence, since the role may involve driving.

Skills required:

• Horticultural knowledge

• Ability to understand and carry out instructions efficiently

• Self-motivated, organised, and pro-active

Experience:

• Soft landscaping record

• Good communication skills

• Familiarity with health and safety policies

• Driving/parking – particularly in London (not essential)

Main duties:

• Preparing areas ready for planting

• Receiving and placing plant stock

• Helping to install irrigation systems

• Helping with erection of trellis work and wires to walls

• Helping on occasion with small hard landscaping projects

• To comply with Health and Safety checks, including Risk Assessments, Competence Forms, Vehicle H&S, Inductions etc

• To work within a team, carrying out general soft landscaping duties under the instruction of the soft landscape foreperson and skilled team
