Our client is a lovely independent garden centre in south Northamptonshire who are actively seeking a Garden Centre Manager to take full control of the day-to-day running of the Garden Centre.

So the Garden Centre Manager we're looking for this client will be friendly, charming and conscientious. You'll have high standards and be described as courteous and relaxed team player.

The successful candidate will have overall responsibility for all aspects of the retail operation including the delivery of a successful profit and loss account and ambitious growth targets.

Our client is an ambitious family-run business with a strong track record over recent years. Sales have grown 70% in the last 5 years and with the recent construction of a further 10,000sq ft of retail space, they aim to double turnover in the next 5 years. Success is built on the fantastic culture of the team as well as the unique site ambience and unique range of goods offered. The successful candidate will be responsible for the enhancement of these key features as well as delivering on sales and profit targets.

This role is ideally suited to an ambitious, driven but friendly team-player looking to enhance their career in a quickly growing business. Applicants must have proof of a successful garden centre management background especially concerning customer care, leadership, merchandising, stock control and security. A good horticultural understanding is also required. The successful applicant will have the Assistant Garden Centre Manager, Planteria Manager and Poultry Manager reporting to them.

Hours of work will be a minimum of 40 hours per week. Full computer literacy is essential. The ability at times, to work alone and assess the quality of your own work is imperative.

The salary paid will be above the industry standard but dependent upon previous experience and prowess, although attitude and behaviour rank higher.
