The Estates Division is responsible for maintaining the University Campus as an exceptional place to live, study and visit.

The postholder will provide line management, supervision, direction and support to Grounds staff assigned to their team (Amenity) and actively participate in planning and resource management for grounds maintenance in order to ensure that the University campus is well presented, welcoming and ready for use by students, staff and visitors and that University policies and procedures are adhered to.

‘Amenity’ refers to the presentation of campus and the preparation for use of the campus by students, staff and visitors.  In relation to the management of grounds maintenance it includes services such as external cleaning, waste and litter management and collection, weed control, pest control and snow and ice clearance. In addition, you will be required to participate in gritting and snow clearance callout throughout the winter. 

The ideal candidate will have a relevant level 2 or 3 qualification in land based studies or equivalent work-based experience. You will have proven people management skills and experience (such as supervision and development of staff), knowledge of health and safety procedure and a full UK driving licence. The successful applicant will be able to demonstrate competence in all the essential criteria.
