The Bransford Webbs Plant Company is one of the leading wholesale Hardy Nursery Stock suppliers in the UK, growing and selling over 1.5 million plants to garden centres annually.

Three exciting job vacancies have arisen to join our team. We are looking to recruit one container grower team leader, one young plant grower team leader and one despatch operative at our site in Bransford, Worcester.

Container Grower Team Leader

We are looking for a fulltime permanent team leader grower working a 39 hour week plus overtime and watering weekends on a rota. You will be responsible for looking after a section of tunnels growing a diverse range of plants.  Supported by one of our supervisors you’ll be looking after all the cultural requirements of your crops including pruning, watering, spacing etc whilst monitoring and controlling P+D/Weeds, and be involved in the dispatching of plants to our Goods in dept. You will also be responsible for leading small team’s of seasonal staff. This is a role that not only requires the drive and motivation to meet targets, but also requires excellent attention to detail and quality.

Out of the peak despatch season you will also be required to work in /provide holiday cover in other areas of the dept / nursery and assist in the application of chemicals and IPM so flexibility/adaptability of working essential. 

Applicants must have a keen interest in plants. Horticultural training/ PA1/PA6 spraying certificates are desirable but full training would be provided.

Despatch worker

We are looking for a full time, permanent despatch worker. You will be required to work in our warehouse in the bulk pulling and order picking teams.  Also you will be required to assist in the training and development of our seasonal staff and be trained on the label printing. Out of season you will be required to work with our nursery team. Experience is desirable but not necessary as full training will be provided.

Young Plant Grower Team Leader

We are looking for a fulltime permanent grower who will have responsibility for the running of one of our young plant glasshouses.  Supported by the Propagation Manager you’ll be responsible for all the cultural requirements of your crops including pruning, watering, weeding, monitoring pests and diseases, and leading teams of seasonal staff.

You will have responsibility for the application of biological control agents and the application of the pesticides.  During quieter periods, you may also be required to provide support to the other areas in the liner unit, including potting, cultural work, and propagation.

Applicants must be enthusiastic and have a keen interest in plants. Previous horticultural training and/or experience is essential. PA1 and PA6 certificates are desirable, but if you don’t have them the willingness to gain them is essential, and full training will be provided.

You'll be required to work approx. 8 weekends to cover weekend watering duties and overtime may be required in peak season.
