Business Development Manager

RHS Vincent Square, London, SW1P 2PE

35 Hours per week

Circa £36,000 per annum

The Royal Horticultural Society has been the force behind gardening for more than 200 years.  We believe everyone in every village, town and city should benefit from growing plants to enhance lives, build stronger, healthier, happier communities and create better places to live.  We want to enrich everyone’s life through plants and make Britain a greener and more beautiful place.

Best known for our world famous Flower Shows and our Gardens, our charitable work is diverse and includes connecting millions of children with nature through the RHS Campaign for School Gardening, managing RHS Britain in Bloom, Europe’s largest community gardening campaign, and conducting pioneering horticultural science research.

Leading on the horticultural content of our world class shows, the Business Development Manager will form part of the Business Development Team reporting into the Head of Business Development.  This role is incredibly important in looking at and identifying Show Garden and installation sponsors/partners across all of the shows.  Applicants will require an understanding of events, what makes them outstanding and working with partners to increase the core content in exciting and innovative ways. Our impressive portfolio of shows includes the world renowned Chelsea Flower Show, Hampton Court Palace Flower Show, Tatton Park Flower Show, Chatsworth Flower Show and several other premium events.

This a truly exciting role where you will work closely across the Shows team and wider RHS to identify and innovate new ideas.  You will hold responsibility to bring new partners on board.

We are looking for a self-motivated and experienced professional, preferably with horticultural experience. You will have strong commercial, creative and account management skills and enjoy working within a fast paced team.

You will need to have a proactive attitude, be a great communicator and have an extensive knowledge of the UK Horticultural scene.
