Hours: 32.5 hours per week; 8.30am – 4.00pm with 1hr lunch break, Mon-Fri, summer (Apr-Oct) and Mon-Thurs, winter (Nov – Mar), Full time / Permanent position

Ludgrove is a full boarding school for boys aged 8 to 13 years set in 130 acres of land. We are seeking an enthusiastic and experienced gardener to complement our existing team of groundsmen. 

The successful candidate will have:

  • A recognised horticultural qualification along with PA1/PA6 spraying certificate.  Full clean driving licence required
  • A wide-ranging knowledge and experience of gardening
  • Excellent communication skills and be able to demonstrate an enthusiasm for horticulture

Key responsibilities include:

  • Garden maintenance tasks such as; pruning, dead heading, trimming, shrub maintenance; planting, weeding and mulching beds and borders in accordance with good horticultural practice and garden design requirements
  • An interest in the planning and designing of new areas
  • Operating garden machinery such as; mowers, strimmers, vehicles etc.
