Salary: £30,403 to £34,142 per annum pro rata

Hours: 25.9 hours per week, 52 weeks per year

Locations: Hadlow College

 

We currently have a new and exciting opening in our Horticulture department for an experienced Team Leader.

The successful candidate will oversee the delivery of a range of Further Education and Short Courses and effectively manage a team of dedicated staff who teach FE programmes, including Horticulture Lecturers and supporting technicians.

Along with the existing Team Leaders, the role involves participating in the College Leadership and Management development programme and supporting the Head of Faculty in the continuous development of the curriculum. As part of the Group’s commitment to Horticulture a significant amount of development and investment is planned to enhance our teaching provision including a new state of the art research and production million pound Venlo glasshouse, due for completion later this year. In addition to this, the group continues to develop its link between Broadview Gardens and the curriculum. This is an exciting opportunity to be part of these new developments at Hadlow College, the outstanding land based College. There will be a reduced teaching commitment to allow for line management duties and the successful candidate will join the College-wide lesson observation team.

As well as being adaptable, resourceful and resilient, the successful candidate will need:

  • To be lead Internal Verifier on horticulture programmes
  • A Degree or equivalent in a relevant land-based subject
  • Practical experience of at least one specific area of horticulture
  • Teaching experience in a practical and classroom setting
  • A Teaching qualification or willing to work towards
  • Sound organisational and IT skills
  • A proven commitment to quality improvement and CPD

Qualifications A1/A2 (D32/33) and V1 (D34) would also be an advantage, as would previous experience of managing staff.

Temporary accommodation may be available to anybody looking to relocate to the area. A market allowance maybe also be considered for the right candidate

The successful candidate will be required to undertake an Enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) Check and provide proof of their right to work in the UK.
