We are working with a well renowned and respected fresh produce business who are looking for someone to join their busy Commercial team in the role of an Account Manager. This business operates globally and has a number of sites in Europe that it operates out of.

The Role:

You will be representing the businesses interests in the UK with its direct wholesale customers and also with retailers alike. The role at present is handled by account managers abroad; however the business has come to the decision that it is best to create a new position in the UK to get some face to face time with its customers and represent the interests in the UK. You will be reporting into the UK Sales Manager, who you will discuss long and medium term plans with. Then execute them in the best interests of the business.

In this position you will be responsible for communicating with the European teams on volume and prices of products, to ensure a good supply to all UK consumers. This would involve forging a closer relationship with supply and distributors in the UK to reduce complexities in the chain but also to build a relationships on the part of the business with these crucial connections.

The Successful Candidate:

To be successful in this role you will have the following characteristics:
A proven background in account management or commercial, minimum 3 years. A good background in supply chain and commercial will also be considered due to the flexible nature of the role.

A background in fresh produce, fruit or fresh food is an advantage and experience with a UK retailer or wholesaler is required.

A flexible attitude to working and adapting as this is a new role.

A European foreign language is an advantage.

Great communication and Microsoft Office skills, this will help you with communicating with the European team, UK retailers and your own UK network of supply and distributors.
