Our client is one of the best and largest independent garden centres in the North of England. They pride themselves in inspiring gardeners and bringing them an outstanding range of plants, gardening and home & leisure products. They are currently looking to recruit a highly motivated Garden Centre Assistant Manager on a full time and permanent basis.

You will be working alongside the Manager of the garden centre in the daily running of the store and must have excellent leadership skills, attention to detail and proactive and prepared to get involved in all areas of the business. You must be motivated by helping make a difference on a daily basis and inspiring others. You must have a good understanding of how to get the best from staff and provide the best to customers (diplomacy useful).

Supporting the Manager of the garden centre in all duties.
Experience of leading a team with excellent people management skills.
Maximise sales opportunities across a wide range of departments.
Help achieve inspiring displays throughout the store.
Excellent verbal communication skills and the ability to liaise with other departments and staff at all levels.
Excellent organisational skills
Proven ability to plan and prioritise workloads and able to work under own initiative.
The ability to motivate others and delegate accordingly.
Excellent time management skills
The ability to ensure high standards of quality and customer care are achieved.
To continually seek opportunities to improve where required.
Be a strong team player.
Friendly, polite and helpful
Previous garden centre experience preferred.

Hours: Full Time
Duration: Permanent 4 weekdays and a Sunday
Pay: Excellent
