Job Details



Our client is a leading Herefordshire based wholesale nursery stock grower who is seeking a Sales Executive within the Amenity Sales department. It is anticipated that approx. 75% of the week will be based at Head Office, with key tasks telephone sales, replying to quotes, securing orders, liaising with buyers & production teams, sales admin, sales meetings. 25% of the week would be based in the field building customer relationships, prospecting & creating new leads.

Key Responsibilities:

Maintaining and developing relationships with existing and prospective customers in person and via telephone calls and emails.
Hosting customers at the nurseries multiple sites.
Cold calling to arrange meetings with potential customers to prospect for new business.
Responding to incoming email and phone enquiries.
Negotiating the terms of orders / contracts to include price, delivery and specifications and liaise with the nurseries buyers and production teams.
Representing the business at trade exhibitions & events.
Gathering market and customer information.
Assisting the team on product developments, marketing initiatives and promotions.
Creating proposal documents, presentations, tender documents as and when required.
Recording sales and order information within the CRM system.
Reviewing your own sales performance, aiming to meet or exceed targets.
Feeding future buying trends back to the wider team as required.
Attending team meeting and sharing best practice with colleagues.
The role will not be limited solely to the responsibilities listed and invariably evolve over time with agreement of all parties.

Key Skills:

The successful candidate will ideally possess the following key skills:
Good plant knowledge (trees, shrubs, herbaceous, transplants)
Some amenity / landscape industry experience.
Excellent communication skills
Strong negotiating skills
IT skills to 'intermediate' level as a minimum.
Engaging telephone manner


Based Hereford Head Office - Will be required to travel
Full Time, 39hrs week
Holiday: 23 days plus bank holidays
Salary: £ dependent on experience
