We grow around 300 varieties of aquatic and moisture lovers, the majority are grown on site from seed, cuttings and division. We pride ourselves in supplying the best quality and widest range of aquatic plants with good availability throughout the season. We are a family run business based in Enfield, North London.

We are looking for a candidate who is driven to ensure Anglo Aquatic Plant not only maintains but improves our quality. To ensure we remain the highest quality supplier of aquatic plants across the UK with the best availability throughout the season. We need a skilled Grower Manager to run our nursery in Enfield to ensure top quality plants are produced on time, in the volumes required.

Applicants should be self-motivated with good organisation skills and practical ability. This can be a physical job and requires a good level of fitness.

Experience

  • Experience working in production horticulture
  • Technical knowledge of growing principles, including irrigation, pest and disease control and crop protection.
  • Experience of leading a team

This role includes but is not limited to the following or managing others to do so:

  • Propagation by seed, cuttings and division
  • Preparation of composts, supervising potting teams, quality control of plant stock
  • Planning and stock evaluation for coming season.
  • Helping with the management of stock levels and forward planning.
  • Coordinate/supervise contractors.
  • Checking and maintaining water system.
  • General site maintenance and repairs.
  • Maintaining Glasshouse environments, including daily maintenance checks on all relevant machinery and carrying out or organising any maintenance required.
  • Weed control in cropping and non-cropped areas.

PA1, PA6, Forklift Training etc. would be an advantage but not essential as training can be provided.

You may be required to work additional hours when required.
