We have a vacancy for a Deputy Team Leader to work in the East Front area of the Palace gardens. 

The gardens to the east of the palace contain some of the largest features of the palace gardens, from the visual impact of the extensive flower beds planted with successional bedding schemes to the record breaking herbaceous border its - 1 km long!  

To keep this most popular section of the palace gardens looking good your role will involve working closely with the current Team Leader to run the team of skilled gardeners that care for this garden of supersized features.
You will deputise for the Team Leader when they are absent and be the Gardens Management Team’s daily point of contact.  You’ll assist your Team Leader to make sure that your team is well coordinated, briefed regularly and performing at the highest level.  

With an eye for detail you will have a very good all round knowledge of garden maintenance tasks and in particular the care of bedding plants, lawns herbaceous perennials and topiary. You will be familiar with using a range of horticultural machinery, for example, pedestrian and ride on lawn mowers and hedge trimmers. You will have sound horticultural qualifications and at least 3 years previous practical horticultural experience. 

Some experience in a similar role or some proven experience in leading others, an NPTC PA1 - PA6 spraying certificate and driver’s licence would be beneficial when applying for this role.

£ 23,400 per annum
