Experienced Gardener

An experienced gardener is sought for a historically important Cotswold garden.

The garden surrounds a Lutyens house that has just been renovated. The exterior areas include extensive herbaceous borders (that are being renovated) formal garden, sunken garden, water features, streams, and mature woodland. There is also a large walled garden, that will be put back into production as a future development.

The gardens are being restored to a high standard, with refreshed planting and landscaping. This is a chance to be involved at an exciting time in the maintenance and improvements of an already brilliant garden.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

• Mowing and strimming of formal and informal areas
• Weeding and care of herbaceous borders
• Fruit and vegetable production
• Hedge cutting/topiary 
• General Estate Duties
• Planting of herbaceous plants, shrubs and trees
• Leaf collection and winter pruning

The candidate must have a minimum of 3 years experience, preferably with a certificate in horticulture, and a good knowledge of plants. Confidence using machinery a chainsaw and spray certificate would be advantageous. You must be hard working and able to work in a team or independently.
