Christ’s College has an opportunity for a recently qualified Gardener or a Gardener who is working towards a recognized horticultural qualification and is seeking to develop their professional skills, to join the busy and friendly team at the College.  For a conscientious individual willing to work hard and outside in all weathers, this role provides the scope to both contribute to the maintenance and upkeep of the College gardens and grounds whilst developing professionally in the sector. 

The salary for this post is paid on a range of points from 19 - 23 on the University’s single pay spine which currently equates to £17,408 - £19,202 per annum, pay award pending and incremental progression through the range is discretionary.  Other benefits include an annual leave entitlement to 36 days’ (inclusive of bank holidays); membership of a contributory pension scheme and free meals in College when on shift. 

The Garden team is a team of 5, led by the Head Gardener, and the work is varied over a broad range of horticultural features and activities, with tasks including lawn and herbaceous border work, nursery and propagation, and garden machinery maintenance. This role would suit a keen self-starter who is able and willing to work in all weather conditions and who either holds or is working towards achieving a recognised horticultural qualification.  A job description and person specification is available to download.  In order to apply please complete an application form and submit with a letter outlining your suitability for the post.
