You’ve got a keen interest in, and good knowledge of, horticulture, have worked in a retail environment and have an empathy with the needs of people experiencing mental health issues. All you need is the perfect environment to put your skills to great use. Welcome to Richmond Fellowship as a Horticultural Trainer.

We need someone like you to help with the commercial running of the Old Moat Garden Centre in Epsom. An integral part of the local community, we provide retail and horticultural services to the public and training and work-based opportunities to adults with mental health problems. Join us and, as a key member of our small team, you’ll work closely with our service users as you supervise and train them in the operation of the Centre. We’ll also rely on you to open the service and serve customers buying plants and associated products, not to mention provide horticultural advice and keep our plant stock in good condition. And, when it comes to contributing to formal/informal training programmes under the direction of the Horticultural Supervisor and in collaboration with the Team Leader, again, we’ll count on you.

As well as good horticultural or gardening knowledge, having worked in retail before, you have great customer service skills too (and, if you’re confident in cash handling and card transactions, even better).  What's more, you enjoy working as part of a team where you can put your excellent communication and listening skills to great use helping others. Well-organised and great at admin, you're also physically fit, happy to occasionally work outside office hours (some bank holiday and weekend working is required) and willing to travel in the local area when required.

So, are you ready to take on this rewarding role that comes with some really great benefits, including a smartphone? Apply now via our website.

Richmond Fellowship is part of Recovery Focus, a national group of charities highly experienced in providing specialist support services to individuals and families living with the effects of mental ill health, drug and alcohol use, gambling and domestic violence. We know that recovery can look and feel very different to each and every one of us. But we also know that if we provide the right support, at the right time, we can inspire recovery nationwide and that recovery is possible for everyone.
