Beamish is an internationally renowned open air museum, with an emphasis on the daily social, rural and industrial lives of the people of the north of England. Gardens and woodland are integral to the visitor experience and a major part of the interpretation and engagement. We are seeking to recruit an enthusiastic, hands on Head Gardener (and woodland) to lead the Gardens and Woodland Team at the museum and to ensure the excellent, continued daily operation and development of these areas.

The successful candidate will have extensive gardens management experience alongside experience of woodland management and will have excellent interpersonal and leadership skills. He or she will also have experience of working with the public and be able to place visitors interests and needs at the forefront of their day to day activity.
