As a world-class arts and learning centre, the Barbican pushes the boundaries of all major art forms including dance, film, music, theatre and visual arts. The Barbican Conservatory and the surrounding Guildhall School grounds is a space that varies between opening to the public and operating as an event space; an important revenue stream to the Barbican Centre

This role is responsible for supporting the day to day gardening services for the Barbican Conservatory and it surrounding areas (including Barbican Centre and Guildhall School).

The Craftsperson Gardener works closely with the Gardening Team Leader, so you should have experience in a similar horticultural role, working with a range of plants and preferably temperate or tropical, ornamental fish, birds and reptiles.

An excellent knowledge and good practical knowledge in gardening (including irrigation systems and ponds) is essential. An RHS level 2 qualification or equivalent, alongside a PA1 & PA6 certificate will be advantageous.

You will be a team player with a positive attitude, and experience in providing gardening services in a customer-facing environment (e.g Conservatory, botanical gardens) would be desirable.

The ideal candidate must be highly motivated, and you must have the ability to work on your own initiative, in a busy environment.

Work is based on rota based shift, and will involve working weekends, and Bank Holidays.
