A fantastic new position has arisen for a part time, self-employed, enthusiastic and experienced gardener working alongside the owner to development the grounds with the assistance of 1 full time maintenance person, situated in the home county of Buckingham.
The friendly family owned estate comprises of 2 acres of formal gardens, with large herbaceous and ornamental grass borders, box and yew hedging as well as topiary and lawn areas, the grounds contain 2 ponds along with a small cottage garden which would be ideal location for the development of a kitchen garden due to its sheltered and sunny spot. Accompanying the formal grounds are 5 acres of parkland.
The successful applicant will need excellent references and a hard-working approach with good plant and horticultural knowledge, attention to detail will be key. In return, the applicant will get the opportunity to be well remunerated.
Typically, the role will involve mowing, hedge and topiary cutting, weeding, pruning, planting, pond maintenance, leaf clearing, servicing of garden machinery. The gardens are not open to the public.
The successful candidate needs to be trustworthy, conscientious, willing to supervise a full-time member of staff their main responsibility is to carryout maintenance duties. Be reliable, physically fit, self-motivated and have a great positive attitude. Someone who can be relied upon to work on their own without the guidance of the estate owner. full UK driving licence is essential.
