Opportunity for an experienced Gardener to play a key role working in the picturesque gardens of one of the leading independent schools in the UK.

You will assist in the maintenance, development and improvement of the School’s gardens, producing high quality work that creates excellent visual impact for pupils, parents, visitors, staff and the Uppingham community to enjoy.

Typical duties will include tending to plants, lawn mowing, hedge cutting, leaf collection, hard and soft landscaping and maintaining garden furniture and structures.

The School’s gardens department has played a key role in Uppingham being chosen as the joint winners in the ‘Best Small Town’ category in the 2017 Royal Horticultural Society Britain in Bloom awards, so this is an exciting time to join the team.

If you have relevant experience in a similar role, work well in a team and have reasonable plant knowledge along with good basic horticultural techniques we would be delighted to hear from you.

The role is 52 weeks per year with working hours of 8.00am to 4.30pm Monday to Thursday and 8.00am to 3.30pm on Friday, with a 30-minute paid break each morning from 10.00am to 10.30am and 30-minute unpaid lunch break each day. Flexible working options are available.

The annual holiday entitlement is 25 days per annum plus Bank/Public Holidays.
