Job Details
We are looking for an experienced and enthusiastic manager to take on a key role managing our popular parks and public spaces.
You will be responsible for the management of a variety of outdoor spaces across the city, encouraging community engagement, and ensuring the city’s public spaces are safe, accessible, interesting and attractive.
With experience of managing a staff team and a significant budget, you should be knowledgeable across the breadth of challenges facing parks and public spaces, and you will be up-to-date with best practice and innovation.
This is a great opportunity to make your mark in a Council whose parks and varied open spaces include play areas and skate parks, allotments, community orchards and wildflower areas, in addition to three main parks enjoyed by both residents and the large number of tourists.
Salisbury is a fabulous city with its magnificent cathedral, lovely parks and superb places to eat. Locally there are many opportunities for spending time with your family and friends, including cycling and camping in the New Forest. You can even meet the lions of Longleat, shop at West Quay in nearby Southampton or kite surf near Poole. And, being only an hour
and half away from London, even the latest West End shows are within reach.
When joining us, you can expect to enjoy a range of benefits, including excellent training and development, a Local Government Pension scheme, childcare vouchers and cycle to work scheme, paid sick leave and generous annual leave entitlement.

Closing date: Monday, 20th August 2018.
