Head Gardener

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Head gardener on a private estate, near Market Harborough in Leicestershire. The garden comprises of mature herbaceous borders, traditional walled garden with cut flowers and vegetables, trained fruit trees, glasshouse, mature shrubs and trees, hedges, lawns, lake side walk, and an ever evolving wish list from an enthusiastic owner. 

The current Head Gardener has been in the position for the previous nine years and has loved every minute but has taken the difficult decision to leave to see what is round the corner.

The applicant will be suitably qualified with significant practical experience and possess a hands on, can do attitude. Supervisory experience will be necessary for the day to day management of the small team, along with excellent plant knowledge and competence with the use of a wide range of machinery. The job will progress and expand as plans are afoot with the addition of two further estates.
