Working as part of a small team you will provide essential parks and open spaces support to the Council and play a vital role in helping to manage, maintain and improve the standards of our parks through your knowledge of tree safety, play, biodiversity and horticulture.
Key duties will include developing and implementing open space improvement schemes, responding to customer reports and advising on tree and green space issues. As well as this, the post-holder will regularly work with Parish Councils, conservation and Friends of Parks groups.
Experience of working in a horticultural related discipline such as open spaces or tree management will be important to this role ; alternatively it would be a good development opportunity for a recent graduate with a landscape or environmental management qualification such as a HND/BSc in Landscape Management/Amenity Horticulture. You must have good communication and interpersonal skills.
