Job Details
The Shakespeare Birthplace Trust is looking to recruit a Garden Apprentice to work at Shakespeare's New Place. You will work across the four other historic Shakespeare gardens from September 2018 to August 2020 in conjunction with completing an NVQ Intermediate Apprenticeship Level 2 in Horticulture with Pershore College.
This role is essential in supporting the ongoing development of the famous historic gardens including working in large herbaceous borders, maintenance of a Knot Garden, undertaking the use of a range of horticultural machinery, planting seasonal displays, and the opportunity to expand their knowledge in horticulture working alongside mentor gardeners.
The successful candidate will have a real passion for horticulture, and have a keen interest in working as part of a team in a historic garden environment. You will also have good communication skills, be happy doing physical work, and be willing to undertake a variety of different tasks, outside and in all weathers.
The role will involve working some weekends, bank holidays and evenings if there are special events.
The closing date for applications is Sunday 8th July 2018, interviews will take place during week commencing 16th July 2018.
