Seasonal Gardener – Parterre Fragrances at Keyneston Mill

£16,500 per annum

40 Hours per week, Monday to Friday

Fixed term position: March – September 2018

Keyneston Mill is the home of Parterre Fragrances, and we are looking for enthusiastic, keen and knowledgeable gardeners to fulfil our seasonal positions.

About the Role

As Seasonal Gardener you will be an integral part of the horticulture team helping to develop and maintain the gardens and crops fields here at Keyneston Mill.  Keyneston Mill is a newly planted estate dedicated to aromatic plants.  The estate comprises of 6 acres of botanic gardens including cut flowers, 40 acres of crops fields as well as private gardens.  The seasonal role will work in all areas of the estate.

Seasonal tasks are varied and include, but not exclusively, mowing, planting, weeding, propagation, mulching, pruning, lawn care, spraying (if you are qualified) and harvesting of crops and cut flowers.

Keyneston Mill is open to the public.

About You

We are looking for passionate gardeners who have previous horticultural experience, ideally in a large (public) garden or estate environment.

  • A minimum of RHS level 2 is essential, or equivalent recognised horticulture qualification.
  • A PA1/PA6 chemical spray qualification is desirable.
  •  Experience operating a wide range of garden machinery will also be beneficial.

You must have excellent communication skills, be able to work as part of a flexible and dedicated team with a proactive and adaptable approach. You must have an eye for detail and a good work ethic.

You will report directly to the Head Gardener and work alongside knowledgeable staff.
