Garden Supervisors and Gardeners for mainly domestic properties Kent Sussex borders
City Escapes is a capable friendly family run Amenity hort, Grounds maintenance and landscaping business based in Burwash, East Sussex. Established since 1993 and specialising in the skilled, knowledgeable care of private gardens, large or small, but also now including Retirement and Residential Estates up to 15 acres.
Due to demand further Garden supervisors and assistant gardeners with proven ability are required to attend to gardens within our care through an annual schedule of regular visits depending on the season. Each Team is allocated specific gardens to nurture to build both a sense of pride and of ownership of gardens in your care. You will be personable and communicative as Client interaction is required as is flexibilty as no two gardens or Clients are the same.
As a Garden Team Supervisor you will be expected to interact with Clients of gardens under your care to allow you to discuss its needs,changes of design and improvements with the view that these will be implemented. Your horticultural expertise will be required to maintain all garden features to as high a standard as possible through regular weeding, cultivation, pruning, training, mowing and edging (no strimmers pls) through a set rota of scheduled visits usually as a Teams of two, occasionally 3. You will have proven skills, a clean uk valid driving license and ideally PA1 and PA6 though training will be provided to the right person.
In winter you would continue the maintenance commitments, assist in other gardens as well as involvement in one off projects often planned by Chelsea winning designers.
As an Assistant gardener you would be expected to be keen to learn and take responsibility in your Supervisors absence, taking the view it is an opportunity for progression.
We seek reliable candidates of all skill levels and who are passionate about gardening and customer service. As a Supervisor Team Leader you should have at least 1-2 years’ post qualification experience of delivering high quality workmanship or proven experience. You should be able to work well within a team and be keen to expand and pass on your knowledge. You should have excellent communication skills and have a flexible, pro-active approach to your duties.
