This outstanding Nursery Stock Grower is looking to add to their Nursery Production & Propagation team and is seeking a confident enthusiastic Assistant Grower to work alongside their existing small team of propagation staff.

The Role

Assist the Propagation Manager to organise, supervise and run the Propagation team. Schedule for the coming seasons requirements.
Take charge of specific activities, areas or staff as delegated by the Propagation Manager. Carry out the general responsibilities and duties of a permanent member of staff and supervisor. Ensuring targets and deadlines are met and undertake any other nursery work when necessary.

You will be involved in all aspects of production from potting to despatch.
Working within a team to ensure production targets are met.
Daily monitoring for pests and diseases and taking action when needed.

The Ideal Candidate

The ideal candidate will have good technical horticultural experience and training.
Hands-on growing skills in the ornamental sector and in particular hardy nursery stock.
A forward thinking outlook with a background within a busy nursery.
Have a good understanding of pests and diseases and a good knowledge of hardy plant production.
Will have a keen interest in horticulture, good plant knowledge, a desire to work in plant production and have the ability to work alone and use own initiative.

Ideally you will have the following:
Training in horticulture
Full driving Licence
Forklift Licence
PA1 & PA6
Be familiar with Excel and Microsoft Office.

Salary: Circa £25,000 - DOE
